Personality Profile
The Law Enforcement Personality Profile is a 60-item self-reporting, non-judgmental instrument that is an excellent way to help recognize and define police personalities and understand law enforcement culture. It’s utilized by college professors, trainers, consultants, and police psychologists to explain organizational strengths, interprofessional conflicts, skill development, and cultural awareness. Completion takes approximately fifteen to twenty minutes, with instructor-led discussion requiring one and one half to two hours using provided materials.

Purpose & Applications
The instrument measures Jungian cognitive working personalities that define the ways police typically prefer to take in information and make decisions. Thousands of officers and criminal justice students have completed it since development. The Profile can explain why certain individuals enter policing, tensions between law enforcement and media/helping professions, and how community policing strategies benefit from understanding professional perspectives.
